Eko is built by fintech operators and compliance engineers who have worked inside the institutions and infrastructure we serve.
CEO & Founder
Mart spent five years in fintech consulting for community banking institutions across the US Midwest, focusing on core banking modernization and product gap analysis. In 2022, a three-month audit at a $400M-asset Iowa credit union made the investment gap concrete: the #1 reason members under 40 cited for leaving was the inability to invest with the same institution where they kept their checking. He co-founded Eko to build the entry point that institution’s compliance team had spent two years looking for and never found. He runs product, go-to-market, and institutional partnerships from Chicago.
CTO & Co-Founder
Nils held senior compliance engineering roles at Apex Clearing and previously at a FINRA-registered broker-dealer in Chicago, where he built the regulatory reporting pipeline for fractional share custody operations. He knows how Apex’s clearing infrastructure actually works—not from the outside. At Eko, he architected the suitability and compliance engine, the Apex custody integration, and the core banking adapters for FIS, Fiserv, and Jack Henry. He wrote the FINRA Rule 4512 disclosure automation that eliminates one of the most time-consuming manual steps in member onboarding.
